Serena Williams is as good as her word

Serena Williams has done it all in tennis, but there’s so much more to come in career—including her first full-length studio album in seven years.

Serena Williams is as good as her word.

The first new song announced for No. 10’s next album will be a collaboration with fellow tennis star Justine Henin.

The singer-turned-singer-turned-actress, who’s been active on the singles scene since her teens, is preparing to launch the project in June, with plans to release it as an EP.

At the same time, No. 10 is working on producing its next album in the studio, which will see Serena collaborating with producers including Rick Nowels, Dan Wilson and Tony Mottola for the debut album of songs the former world No. 1 says are better than anything she ever recorded.

The news comes just weeks ahead of what will be her sixth world No. 1 singles collection and first studio album in seven years and a return to singles competition for the first time in three years.

She has spent the past three years focusing on singles and preparing for the next milestone in her career.

On Wednesday, the world’s No. 1 player posted a photo of a whiteboard titled “Next Album, No.10,” alongside a note that read, “My fans love me. I am working on the next album but it will not be coming out anytime soon. Thanks and enjoy the moment.”

The release of her next studio album is part of Serena’s plans to return to singles competition after serving as a coach for the last six years of her career, which began with the 2010 US Open on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

She made her return as a coach in January 2017, after serving as the captain of Team USA over the past seven years.

“I have done a lot of soul-searching and wanted to move in a different direction to continue to push my career,” she said in a statement provided to USA TODAY Sports by her manager, Marc Davis.

“I have been able to do that with my team and our players over the last six years, but it has been the perfect platform to continue to grow as an artist, with the ability to work with the best artists in the industry,” she added.
