Atlético Madrid midfielder’s comeback from brain cancer and mother’s paralysis
Gonzalo Higuain’s mother and sister have both been paralysed in an unfortunate accident in recent days, prompting him to leave Madrid on a season-long loan to Juventus. But he insists that this isn’t the source of his anger.
Zoé and her brother Gonzalo Higuain have both been paralysed after suffering a car accident on Monday.
Higuain said on Tuesday in an Instagram post that his sister suffered a stroke and that he would make his return to action this season.
“After five years of not playing for Madrid, the club has lost a true legend and the best ever in my career. We couldn’t be more proud,” he wrote.
Higuain joined Madrid from Napoli in 2013 and has won La Liga, Coppa Italia, Champions League and Europa League.
